What You’ll Need

Before your day is in full-swing, grab a light breakfast and beverage from Simply Good. This local coffee shop offers an eclectic atmosphere and delicious coffee. (Just FYI: Simply Good shares a space with a bike shop if you need a little tune up before your ride around the lake!)  Then, head to Lake Ripley for a walk, run or bike ride. The lake offers a peaceful backdrop for your morning exercise as you make your way around an almost 4 mile loop (you’ll be utilizing both streets and paved paths).

Now that you’ve been around the lake, it’s time to get on the lake! Located at the boat landing on the East side of Ripley, you’ll find a station to rent single & double kayaks and paddleboards. Reserve yours by clicking HERE

Pro tip: park your vehicle at Legion Memorial Park. This way, when you’re finished with your trip around the lake, you’ll be right where you need to be for renting a kayak or paddleboard!

By this time, you must be hungry! Make your way to downtown Litchfield and stop in at the Natural Food Co-op to put together a picnic lunch. Full of local produce, meats and dairy as well as a variety of organic options, the Food Co-op is special find here in Litchfield. Consider enjoying your picnic at Central Park, just a few steps from the Co-op and take in the lush, green surroundings. Central Park is utilized all summer long for different events – make sure to check those out HERE!
